Jalen Brunson — New York Knicks
Riding high off the championship, Brunson swept individual hardware at the 2026 ESPYs (July 15–16), winning Best Championship Performance and Best Athlete — Men's Sports on the strength of his Finals run (32.6 ppg, 4.6 apg, 4.2 rpg, 2.2 spg). He's recovering from left wrist tendon surgery undergone after the Finals but made a WWE Saturday Night's Main Event appearance alongside Karl-Anthony Towns. He'll join Variety's new Sports & Entertainment Studio in New York, and told reporters (July 21) the team hasn't discussed a White House visit. On the business side, reporting this week floats Brunson eyeing a $300M max extension next summer after taking a team-friendly deal last time around.
Josh Hart — New York Knicks
Still enjoying the title run, Hart becomes extension-eligible on August 10 and is reportedly expected to take another team-friendly deal to help the champs run it back, following Brunson and Bridges' lead. He's been active and funny on social media about the short offseason ("let me put the wine down and pick up a ball") and about New York's chaotic offseason moves. No injury concerns.
Mikal Bridges — New York Knicks
Bridges signed a 4-year, $150M extension with the Knicks, taking a discount to help keep the championship roster intact; the deal includes a 2029-30 player option and a trade kicker. He was a key piece of New York's title run (their first since 1973) and the Knicks are bringing the group back largely intact aside from Mitchell Robinson (traded to Boston) and Ariel Hukporti (signed with Philadelphia).
Donte DiVincenzo — Minnesota Timberwolves
Still recovering from the torn right Achilles suffered in Game 4 of the first-round series against Denver in late April, which ended a career-best season (12.2 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 3.8 apg, 37.9% from three, all 82 games played). Minnesota has said it prefers to keep him out of offseason business while he rehabs and acquired Josh Green (via the LaMelo Ball trade) as a stopgap rather than moving DiVincenzo. No timetable given yet for his return.
Collin Gillespie — Phoenix Suns
Re-signed with Phoenix on a 4-year, $48M deal announced July 7. Gillespie, who turned 27 in June, is coming off a breakout year (12.7 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 4.6 apg, 40.1% from three over 80 games) and Suns GM Brian Gregory praised him as embodying the team's culture after an expanded role last season.
Cam Whitmore — Washington Wizards
No major new updates in the past 15 days. Whitmore remains in recovery from the deep vein thrombosis (upper-extremity, right shoulder) that ended his 2025-26 season in January after he averaged 9.2 ppg and 2.8 rpg over 21 games. He's expressed optimism about returning for next season, and Washington exercised his rookie option, signaling continued commitment. No specific July update on his recovery timeline was found.
Saddiq Bey — New Orleans Pelicans
Became extension-eligible July 10, and reporting indicates both Bey and the Pelicans are interested in getting a deal done after his breakout, career-best season (17.7 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 2.5 apg on 45.1/36.7/84.1 shooting), including a 42-point game and five 30-point outings. He'd missed all of 2024-25 with a torn ACL before arriving in New Orleans as a throw-in on the Jordan Poole trade.
Jermaine Samuels — Houston Rockets
Samuels has left the Rockets organization, signing with Spanish club San Pablo Burgos for the coming season after two years on a two-way deal with Houston and its G League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (where he earned a G League All-Star nod). No indication of an NBA return in the near term.
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl — Texas Legends (G-League)
No new news in the past 15 days beyond his established 2025-26 track record: he averaged 18.7 ppg, 12.2 rpg and 2.8 apg on 55.0% shooting across 17 G League games with the Legends, earned 10-day NBA hardship deals with both the Pacers and Mavericks, and was named to the USA Basketball Men's World Cup Qualifying roster in February. Currently between NBA opportunities.
Eric Dixon — Memphis Hustle (G-League)
Dixon, acquired by Memphis from the Greensboro Swarm in a February trade, has been a standout since the move — averaging 22.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg and 1.8 apg with the Hustle, including a 48-point outburst (12-of-21 FG, 6-of-12 from three, 12-of-12 FT) in his most recent notable performance. The former Villanova scoring leader and Third Team All-American continues to build a case for an NBA opportunity after going undrafted in 2025.
